Welcome to Pangbourne Valley Pre-School.

We are a registered charity pre-school dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 2-5 in Pangbourne and the surrounding villages.

Our Ethos

To provide an enriching environment where children feel safe and secure. This in turn promotes independence, resilience and positive wellbeing.

By catering to children's individual needs we nurture confident, capable learners who value their self-worth.

Pangbourne Valley Pre-School is a registered charity, at the heart of our community, committed to providing affordable childcare and education for local families.

Our curriculum

Our curriculum is designed in line with the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS), Development Matters and Birth to 5 guidance. We support a holistic, child centred approach which provides meaningful opportunities for exploration, creativity and natural inquisition while fostering a lifelong love of learning through each child's individual interests and needs.

Personal, social & emotional development

Children are supported to form positive relationships with their peers and adults around them whilst also learning to manage their feelings and behaviour and build their self-confidence. We use a consistent, positive approach encouraging children to work together co-operatively, respectfully and independently.

Communication & Language

Children are encouraged to communicate their wants and needs independently through words, sounds and gestures. Quickly learning that what they need to communicate with us is valid and listened to, in a nurturing environment where time and patience is given with support from the adults who are caring for them.

Physical development

Children are provided with ample opportunities for both indoor and outdoor play. The wide variety of activities provided help to develop strength, co-ordination, balance and control both with fine and gross motor skills. Toilet training is approached sensitively and adapted to meet the needs of each child in a pressure free environment.
